Born in a traditional Chinese Family in Hong Kong, Dorothy’s artistic sense started developing at a young age. Her first inspiration stems from her classic training on Chinese calligraphy and drawing taught by her father since the age of six.

While nurtured with rich Eastern culture from her tradition family, Dorothy acquired Western education aboard and received different cultural experience at work. She graduated from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland with a master’s degree of Science in International Marketing. Prior to establishing VOGUE it is, Dorothy was a marketing veteran who had successfully promoted different international beauty and skincare products. She was the one to turn the American Revlon brand from a traditional personal-selling counter into a self-servicing unit business in Hong Kong. Dorothy had been the Lecturer on Public Relation and Business Marketing at the Hong Kong Management Association to share her working experience.

Driven by her own aptitude, Dorothy quit her lucrative job at Revlon in 1997 to acquire international qualifications on face and body treatment, aromatherapy, makeup and hair styling, nail beauty, lash beauty and semi-permanent makeup. With a strong desire to uncover the hidden beauty in girls of all ages, She began working as a free-lance makeup artist since 1995. In just a few years, Dorothy has made her name in the industry and has become a new generation avant-garde makeup and hair stylist, attracting major newspapers, fashion magazines, and even Metro Radio, ATV and Cable TV came to interview her and to invite her to do makeup demonstration. In 1998, she established her first total beauty studio, VOGUE it is.
